Adventure Challenge Program

The Adventure Challenge Program at our facility is an experiential learning activity that has become a major training tool for developing and maintaining effective teams in both academic and corporate organizations.

Goals of the Programs

  • To strengthen group cohesiveness and commitment.
  • To gain insight into effective leadership.
  • To foster trust among people working together.
  • Participants develop an increased awareness of self and others.
  • Participants learn the importance of taking positive risks.
  • The learning experienced on the course is transferred back to the office and / or classroom

Group Initiatives

Group Initiative activities are a series of challenges and problems that are presented to a group by a trained facilitator. Success in each challenge depends not on strength or physical fitness, but on the willingness and drive of the group to work together, to communicate sand plan effectively, and to trust each other. Each sequence of activities is designed to progress from relatively simple games and problems, to challenges that require a large degree of trust and commitment from each member of the team.

These activities offer a fun and hands-on way to learn about the strengths and weaknesses of the group. Following each activity, a debrief session is conducted in order for group members to process the experience and to better understand how it relates to themselves and their organizations.

High Ropes

The high ropes courses invite participants to test both physical and emotional limits in an effort to expand personal comfort zones. All of the equipment at Camp B’nai Brith is built to industry standards set by the Association for Challenge Course Technology.

High Ropes offers more of a personal challenge than the group initiative activities. Each individual chooses how far they want to go, and can use the group down on the ground for support. In most of our high ropes activities, it is the group that is directly responsible for the safety of the individual climber (i.e.. They hold the rope). This increases the level of trust and commitment that must be made by all.

We use a philosophy of Challenge By Choice in all of our experiential activities. The sacred rule is that no person will be made to take risks that are too far beyond their comfort levels. Each individual has a choice, and is empowered to have their voice listened to and understood by the whole group.

Come and experience a fun and powerful activity that will serve as a blueprint for effective team building and leadership in your organization
